Federation Square
Swanston St & Flinders St, Melbourne

Linkstone was proud to be part of the enhancement works at Federation Square, one of Melbourne’s most celebrated civic and cultural destinations. This high-traffic public space required robust, precision-driven stone surface solutions that could withstand daily footfall while preserving aesthetic integrity.
Our team was responsible for the installation of natural stone flooring, cladded feature walls, and architectural staircases, ensuring all components aligned with the site’s urban design standards. Every piece was crafted and laid with a strong emphasis on durability, slip-resistance, and consistency in finish.
This was a large-format, public-domain installation where function met finish — and where Linkstone’s capability in delivering urban-scale stonework was clearly demonstrated.
✔ Project Scope:
Stone paving and flooring in pedestrian zones
Wall cladding across public entries and gathering areas
Tiered stone staircases with precision-cut risers and treads
Use of heavy-duty stone materials suitable for civic applications
Integration with public access pathways and safety codes
This project reinforces Linkstone’s position as a trusted provider for stonework in public infrastructure and city-scale design.
